Guy Girard, dream of Wednesday April 15, 2020:
I have just received the new issue of Peculiar Mormyrid, which is devoted to the theme of fire. I read the editorial by Jason A., admittedly very lyrical and written in an apocalyptic tone, but I worry that these calls for fire, destructive and purifying fire, are not counterbalanced by an evocation of a fire which burns fire itself, which magnifies it until the flame becomes crystal. Should I blame him for this lack of dialectic? I then see the image of a chair burning on the top floor of a tower, then the burning of an entire desert, like an immense vibration at the bottom of its stony ground. From this, is it possible to deduce an image of utopia? This is what we have to think about from now on, if we want surrealism to really go ahead and not stagnate. I trust these young people who are renewing our movement and I talk about it with Joël G. as we walk on the small road which passes in front of the Château de Flamanville. I notice that the grass on the side is still dewy.
